The Software Developer 3, under management direction, provide new software products and capabilities for Jacobs. Using an Agile software engineering approach, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing and integration of software while working with a team of other developers.
Knowledge, skills & abilities required:
Develop code using Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 in .NET and C# environments using the following:
Developing software solutions within existing architectures and new projects
Perform testing on developed code (initial and regression)
Coordinate and prioritize application modifications and bug fixes
Participate and contribute to an Agile Scrum team approach to software development and problem solving
Commitment to quality through unit testing, regression testing, and peer reviews
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate design and development concepts clearly
Posses the knowledge and experience to perform complex and challenging system and specialty engineering tasks with minimal supervision and has demonstrated experience in performing a variety of complicated tasks
Working with developers, designers, testers, and product managers in a collaborative agile environment to deliver product improvements on an ongoing basis
Required Skills and Competencies
5 Years Software Development
5 Years Working with Agile team development
HTML 5 and CSS 3 skillsets
Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, Transact-SQL
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong knowledge of .Net software development best practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills
SQL Server Development experience
Be comfortable consuming REST and WebSocket APIs using JSON
Building cutting edge web/desktop/and mobile interfaces using a modern tool chain; from concepts through requirements, use cases, implementation, unit testing, and on through live deployment
Engaging and coordinating with other engineers and engineering teams to complete product goals
Be capable of driving towards a goal independently and proactively solving problems with minimal oversight
Collaborate with team members and mentor other team members when the opportunity arises
Have experience in architecting single page data-driven applications and developing efficient and maintainable solutions
Have excellent troubleshooting skills, familiarity with test tools, and a passion for fixing customer issues
Azure Web apps using both SQL Server and Azure SQL databases
Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), Visual Studio and Git desirable
Content Management experience using TFS and/or VSTS including automation a highly desirable plus
Publish/subscribe patterns and middleware experience a plus
Web-based experience using various technologies such as Microsoft’s IIS web
Database experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SRSSMobile design, usability, and implementation
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred
Physical requirements – Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meeting and conferences. May carry light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks and laptops.
Work Environment – Cubicle environment is in a secure site.
Attendance - Must be able to work within the shift hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.
Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines.
Equipment and Machines - Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
Other Essential Functions:
Must pass drug testing.
Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
